about

I was born to parents who instilled in me their love of travel and art. Before the age of 14, I’d seen exhibits at the Louvre, Versailles, the Uffizi, the National Gallery, Mozart Wohnhaus, the SF MOMA, the Smithsonian and the Honolulu Museum of Art. The pieces that sparked my curiosity were almost always portraits.

Whether classically painted, depicted in abstract or captured on film, I love when a portrait draws me in. My goal as a photographer is to capture the essence of my subjects and create images that merit a second look or evoke emotion.

I also inherited a love of words – on paper or sung or spoken on stage. Libraries were often my sanctuary as a child and I still clearly remember the thrill of attending my first musicals, Fela! and Jesus Christ Superstar. My passion for both has helped drive my creativity in copywriting, singing and songwriting.

Whether it be photography, writing or music, I strive to show that desire to create something beautiful.
